Equine Barn Assistant, Chore Person

Love horses? Equine Veterinary Center is looking for a barn assistant who is all about keeping our barn clean and healthy for our client horses. Duties include:

• Helping out with barn operations, feeding, mucking, turnout, and handling horses including stallions, mares and foals

• Operating and maintaining farm machinery and equipment,

• Doing heavy lifting and manual labor,

• Assisting with grounds maintenance like weeding, watering, and fertilizing,

• Helping out with repairs, fencing, plowing, and cleaning,

• Supporting animal husbandry tasks like feeding and cleaning, and assisting the veterinary team as needed.

Qualifications:

• Preferably have horse handling skills, but we're willing to teach if you're eager to learn,

• Experience with farm machinery is a plus, and we'll provide training,

• Ability to do heavy lifting and manual labor in any weather,

• Basic mechanical knowledge for equipment repair and maintenance,

• Skilled in using hand tools for various tasks.

This job requires physical stamina, as it involves heavy lifting, standing for long periods, and working outdoors. The ideal candidate is reliable, punctual, detail-oriented, and can work well independently or with a team.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $14.50 - $19.75 per hour

Expected hours: Hours negotiable--we are hiring PT 15 to 30 and FT 40+
