Veterinary Technician

Well-established 3-doctor, privately owned practice with opportunities to use your skills and expand your knowledge base.

We primarily treat dogs and cats but also see some small mammals, reptiles and birds (previous experience with exotics not required, but must be willing to learn.) No boarding, grooming or walk-ins.

You will be scheduled between 8am and 6:30pm for a 4-day work week, Monday through Friday (we are closed Saturday, Sunday, and major holidays). Pay is $19.50 - $23.50 per hour depending on skills and experience.

Required skills:

· place IV catheters

· draw blood (cephalic, saphenous, jugular)

· position patients and perform digital x-ray

· surgical prep, intubation, monitor vitals, assist, recovery

· dental clean & polish

· microscopy (prep and read cytology, fecal parasites, urinalysis)

· client education & communication for wellness and medical appointments

· electronic medical record entry (Avimark exp a plus), thorough documentation

· accuracy and attention to detail

· ability to work independently; motivation and positive attitude a must!

At least 2 years experience with the above skills. CVT desirable, or equivalent skill level.
