About the Veterinary Technician Ophthalmology Technician Role:

We are looking to add to our growing team and are in search of an Ophthalmology Veterinary Technician with at least three years of experience in a clinical setting, preferably with ophthalmology experience. Our hospital's Ophthalmology nurses play a vital role in providing superior and compassionate medical care to patients while working collaboratively with our Ophthalmology specialists and hospital team.

Schedule & Compensation

Schedule: Tuesday and Thursday, 7am 7pm (Part Time)

Compensation: Starting at $23/hr

What Youll Do

  • Assist with ophthalmic examinations, diagnostics, and treatments
  • Provide compassionate and skilled nursing care to ophthalmology patients
  • Administer and calculate medications accurately (IV, IM, SQ, PO, OU, OD)
  • Educate pet owners on ophthalmic conditions and post-procedural care
  • Assist with ophthalmic surgical procedures and anesthesia monitoring
  • Maintain and update patient records with accuracy
  • Coordinate service admits/discharges and assist in patient triage
  • Mentor and support fellow nursing team members
  • Communicate effectively with clients, veterinarians, and hospital staff
  • Ensure Fear Free handling for a stress-free patient experience
Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience in a clinical veterinary setting (ophthalmology experience preferred)
  • Current CVT/LVT/RVT preferred or educational equivalent
  • Strong understanding of veterinary ophthalmic procedures and medications
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-stress environment
