For the Love of Dogs is a non-profit no kill shelter and sanctuary located on 50 acre farm in Wilson, North Carolina. Stray or surrendered dogs are housed in three areas on the property. There is also a veterinarian
clinic on the farm which contains a lobby, lab, medical prep area, digital x ray equipment and surgery suite.
For the Love of Dogs cares for the dogs both short term and long term and arranges adoptions as well. We
assist many dogs with life long conditions and medical needs.

The co founders, Max Fitz-Gerald,PhD and Della Fitz-Gerald, PhD team with a licensed veterinarian, for the clinic to provide veterinary services to rescue groups, families with multiple dogs and cats and individuals with fixed or lower income. We want dogs and cats to get the medical care and refer to our vet program as cost friendly.
