Wilhite & Frees Equine Hospital is a 100% equine practice located in Peculiar, just South of Kansas City, Missouri. While most of our patients reside in Jackson and Cass counties in Missouri, and in Johnson county Kansas, we also provide services to clients outside of the greater Kansas City metropolitan area. The practice was founded in 1998, by Dr. Wilhite, and has grown to include a staff of six veterinarians, including two surgeons and two interns. All of our doctors are both licensed and accredited in Missouri and Kansas. Ambulatory and hospital appointments are available between 8am and 5pm Monday through Friday, but emergency coverage is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Our patients range from competitive performance horses, to pleasure horses, to breeding animals. We have five practice vehicles that are fully equipped to meet the varying needs of our clientele. We provide diagnostic lameness evaluations, purchase exams, sports medicine, intra-articular (joint) injections, dentistry, stallion and mare reproductive services, as well as general wellness care and preventative medicine. Portable radiograph (X-ray) machines and ultrasound machines are always available for onsite service. Additional services including endoscopy, motorized dentistry, shockwave therapy, as well as semen evaluation and shipping are also available. Our six doctors hold rounds once a week to keep up to date and provide feedback to each other on cases being handled by our clinic.
