KCHS operates the KCHS-CATS cat shelter.
Since 1887, the Knox County Humane Society has served the residents of Knox County, a largely rural county about 60 miles northeast of Columbus, Ohio. KCHS maintains a cat shelter at 400 Columbus Road in Mount Vernon, Ohio, which has recently been remodeled with an expanded surgery/wellness clinic suite. Our primary programs include low-cost spay/neuter clinics on Mondays and Thursdays for client-owned cats and dogs, and low-cost wellness clinics also for cats and dogs on Tuesdays and Fridays. We also house a shelter for cats and kittens available for adoption. . KCHS is a non-profit, 501(c )3 organization.
