We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a genuine love for animals and a strong desire to provide high-quality care in a fast-paced veterinary environment. As a Veterinary Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting veterinarians and ensuring the well-being of our patients.
Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians during examinations and procedures by providing necessary support and handling of animals.
- Perform routine tasks such as taking vital signs, administering medications, and preparing animals for surgery.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including properly sterilizing instruments and equipment using aseptic techniques.
- Provide excellent pet care, including feeding, grooming, and exercising animals as needed.
- Handle animal restraint effectively to ensure safety for both staff and patients during examinations or treatments.
- Assist with laboratory tasks such as collecting samples for testing and maintaining accurate records.
- Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their pets' health and care instructions.
- Support doctors in surgery monitoring anesthesia
Requirements
- Three years of previous experience in pet care or veterinary settings is preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong dog handling, animal husbandry, and animal handling skills are essential.
- Familiarity with veterinary critical care practices is a plus.
- Knowledge of aseptic techniques and laboratory procedures is beneficial.
- Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment while also being capable of working independently when required.
- Excellent communication skills to interact positively with clients and team members.
- A passion for animal welfare and commitment to providing exceptional care.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 -$22.00 per hour depending on experience
Expected hours: 36 40 per week
