Job Summary
Job Description
We are seeking an additional Veterinarian to join our dynamic team. Our current full-time veterinarian works an average of 30 hours per week. In this role, you will be responsible for the daily care of our surgical patients and ensuring that all clinic staff adhere to proper pre-, peri-, and post-operative protocols. We offer comprehensive high-volume surgery training and will provide moving expense assistance along with a robust benefits package.
Key Responsibilities:
- Examine animals pre-operatively to assess their suitability for surgery
- Perform spay/neuter procedures and other surgical sterilizations
- Provide post-operative examinations and follow-up care
- Supervise the handling and recording of controlled substances by veterinary technicians
- Communicate effectively with staff and management regarding patient care and training protocols
- Participate in designated training sessions and assist in educating clinic personnel
- Perform other duties as assigned to maintain high standards of care
Working Relationships:
- Collaborate closely with fellow veterinarians, veterinary technicians, and assistants to ensure seamless clinic operations
New Clinic Initiative:
- We have purchased land and finalized architectural plans for a state-of-the-art facility that will expand our capacity. This new clinic will significantly increase our services and impact across South Texas.
Work Environment:
- Our clinic operates in a fast-paced, high-volume setting that is both challenging and rewarding.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Salary: $175,000 - $225,000 per year (negotiable based on experience). Please note, during the training period, the starting salary will be lower, with increases implemented as training progresses.
